As we recognize the limitation of water resources globally, we believe that agriculture practices must adopt water resource management strategies while raising the quality of agriculture produce and creating employment opportunities for local communities.
BADR Investments’ first sustainable agriculture project, AgriJordan www.agrijordan.com was established in Jordan in 2009. Two pilot farms were built allowing for proof of concept, namely water saving and higher yields of high quality crops, and establishing the brand AgriJordan worldwide.
AgriJordan’s water saving techniques have proven quite successful as each kilogram of produce uses between 80 to 90 percent less water compared to traditional agricultural practices and simultaneously produces 90 to 95 percent export quality.
Within this context, AgriJordan recognizes the opportunity to redefine the way agriculture is carried out in Jordan and the region and its impact on water management policies. AgriJordan has proven the concept through its pilot farms, roll-out farms and production model.
BADR Investments’ plan is to roll out the concept worldwide, especially in countries with scarce water resources, in order to create a paradigm shift in agriculture practices to produce higher yields and better quality produce using less water.
